Yoona Hong

Composer

Yoona Hong is a composer from Frankfurt Am Main, Stadt (Germany). She is mainly experienced in improvisation, interdisciplinary projects, chamber music, lied repertoire, opera repertoire, studio recordings, symphonic music and video / film.

About the piece:
As we go through life, our view of the world keeps changing with new experiences. Even something we once admired like a dream can turn into a source of disappointment or pain after certain events. In fact, the object itself was never truly special—its meaning came only from our own expectations and feelings. Our inner world constantly faces these changes, and the way we judge and feel about things can shift at any moment.
This piece explores that inner process. From a phenomenological perspective, an object’s meaning
comes not from the object itself, but from how we experience and interpret it. Similarly, according to the idea of the revaluation of values, something that once felt exciting and positive can become dull or shocking, leaving marks and scars within us. The music seeks to express these emotional shifts and changes of the inner self.
