what: chamber music
date of composition: April 2026

program note: A solo built around a rubber toy pig, the squeaky, comic maialino (piggy) set as the central sound-object and emblem of the meat industry it stands in for. The percussionist collects and animates everyday and toy-like materials, but the playful, nursery-rhyme surface is undercut by recordings of documentaries narrating industrial meat production, which enter the texture as a documentary counter-voice. The friction is the point: a children's toy and its cheerful squeal set against the machinery of slaughter and consumption, the "model piglet" of the title revealed as a product, a unit, a thing. What begins as theatrical play turns into an uneasy reflection on what we choose not to hear behind the objects we handle
première: 12th May 2026 | Divertimento Ensemble Rondò - Fabbrica del vapore. Milano, Italy
