program note: This film-opera tests the central thesis: film and A/V elements as a pivot, not a backdrop, in contemporary opera. The recorded image acts as a dramaturgical agent in counterpoint with the live singers and sinfonietta, so that screen and stage continually redefine one another. Awarded the Belle van Zuylen Prijs 2026 (KVNM) for artistic research, the work argues for the moving image as a structural protagonist of operatic time.
