program note: A film-performance that splits a single role across media, one performer exists only on video playing with balloons as fragile, bursting physical objects. The other plays a wind instrument live. A piece about fragility, and about how fragility itself can carry violence. The balloon is its central metaphor: a thing so delicate it can barely be touched, yet swelling with tension until it bursts, an object whose very weakness becomes an act of aggression, a small explosion waiting to happen.
