​program note: Cello and piano unfold against a fixed audio-video horizon, the recorded media opening the chamber duo onto a cosmic scale. Fragments of image and sound situate the intimate instrumental writing within a larger, drifting universe, an early articulation of the dialogue between live performers and recorded media that defines the later research.
