program note: Commissioned by Stanislascollege for its100 year anniversary, this large choral-orchestral work on the image of sailing, departure, voyage, the pull of open water. Soprano solo, choir and orchestra build a broad, lyrical arc, the metaphor of the voyage carrying themes of growth and passage suited to its educational commissioning context.
